Abstract:
Tristezni avtomobilski katalizatorji so naprave za zmanjševanje izpustov škodljivih plinov motornih vozil. Diplomsko delo predstavlja izrabljene avtomobilske katalizatorje kot alternativni vir surovin in ugotavlja dejanski potencial recikliranja, primerja politiko in dejansko stanje v Sloveniji in drugih državah na tem področju. Predpostavlja, da se bo v prihodnosti pomen alternativnih virov še povečal. Razlogi za to so lahko pomanjkanje drugih virov, ekologija in drugi. Primerja osem procesov za recikliranje izrabljenih avtomobilskih katalizatorjev, jih analizira s SWOT metodo in metodo tehtanih vsot ter izbere najboljši proces: recikliranje s kislinskimi hlapi in oksidacijskim sredstvom. Izbran proces je načrtovan ter ekonomsko ovrednoten s programskim paketom SuperPro Designer®. Rezultati so pokazali, da bi bil proces primeren za uporabo.

RECOVERING PGM FROM SPENT AUTOMOTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS
Abstract:
Three-way catalytic converters are devices to reduce harmful gas emissions of motor vehicles. My thesis presents spent automotive converters as an alternative source of raw materials and the actual potential of recycling, compares the policy and the actual situation in Slovenia and other countries in this field. It is predicted that, the importance of alternative sources will increase in the future. Reasons for this may be the lack of other resources, ecology and others. In this paper eight processes are being compared for recycling spent automotive catalytic converters. For the analysis of the processes it is used the SWOT method and the method of weighted sums. It is shown that the best process is recycling with acid fumes and oxidizing agent. The chosen process is simulated and economically evaluated by the software package SuperPro Designer®. Results have shown that the process could be used in practice.
