Abstract:V diplomskem delu obravnavam sodelovanje med domom, učitelji in svetovalno službo.

Title:Cooperation betwen home, teachers and advisory service
Abstract:The following Diploma assignment studies cooperation between home, teachers and the Counselling Service. This cooperation is extremely important in both education and overall development of a child. The theoretical part of this Diploma assignment defines cooperation between the school and the home. I highlighted the development of cooperation through time and the circumstances (incentives and barriers) that affect such cooperation. I defined the term ‘family’ and its effects on the development of an individual. Moreover, I also presented the importance of school as the secondary factor of socialisation for every individual person. In this study, I focused on cooperation between the School Counselling Service and parents or family. The empirical part highlights cooperation between parents and the school, causes and types of such cooperation, the expectations of children with regard to the Counselling Service, frequency of cooperation, and its effects on the child's school performance. According to my findings, the pupil's age does not affect the frequency of cooperation between parents and the school. Contrary to the results reported in literature, my research suggests that the frequency of cooperation between parents and the school does not affect the child’s school performance. I discovered that frequency of cooperation between parents and the School Counselling Service does not depend on the level of parents’ education. Basically, parents prefer individual cooperation with the school to visiting parent-teacher conferences or other types of cooperation. In addition, the child’s gender also does not affect the frequency of cooperation with the Counselling Service. Parents expect that the Counselling Service will help children with their studies and discuss matters with parents, thus counselling and trust. Cooperation with parents is a challenging and important task of every school. Through an open and honest communication and mutual respect, we can develop, strengthen and improve the partnership between the home and the school.
