Abstract:V diplomskem delu je predstavljen pomen zdravstvenovzgojnega dela pacientov z epilepsijo. Epilepsija, ki je zaradi svojih značilnosti resen medicinski in socialni problem, vselej vpliva na psihično in fizično funkcioniranje pacienta ter zahteva celovito in individualno obravnavo pacienta. Za uspešno premagovanje bolezni je potrebno pridobiti pacientovo zaupanje in mu zagotoviti zdravstvenovzgojno delo. V empiričnem delu smo predstavili rezultate raziskave, ki je temeljila na kvantitativni metodologiji z uporabo delno strukturiranega vprašalnika, namenjenega pacientom z epilepsijo, vključenih je bilo 60 anketirancev. Z raziskavo smo želeli ugotoviti seznanjenost pacientov z epilepsijo s samo boleznijo, načinom življenja, ukrepih in omejitvah; ali dobijo dovolj informacij tekom procesa zdravljenja in ali imajo željo po ustanovitvi šole oziroma drugega načina izobraževanja. Z raziskavo smo dosegli zastavljene cilje, hkrati pa spoznali težave pacientov z epilepsijo ob spopadanju z boleznijo in načinom življenja, ukrepih in omejitvah, ki jih bolezen prinaša, njihove poglede in želje po dodatnem informiranju in šolanju v zvezi z boleznijo. Rezultati raziskave so tudi vodilo za nadaljnje načrtovanje zdravstvenovzgojnega dela medicinske sestre, ki bi bistveno prispevalo k boljši kakovosti življenja pacientov z epilepsijo. V ta namen smo izdelali program za ustanovitev šole za paciente z epilepsijo.

Title:HEALTH CARE EDUCATION OF EPILEPSY PATIENTS
Abstract:ABSTRACT In the diploma work we presented the meaning of nurse health care with epilepsy patients. Epilepsy is because of its characteristics a serious medical and social problem. It always effects mental and physical patients' functioning and demands a comprehensive and individual approach to the patients. We have to gain patients' trust and ensure them nurse health care to successfully beat the disease. In the empirical part we presented the results obtained with a quantitave survey method, sixty epilepsy patients completed a partly-structured questionnaire. With the survey we wanted to establish how well the epilepsy patients are acquainted with the disease, its way of life, its measures and handicaps. We were also interested if they get enough information during the process of medical treatment, and whether they wish to establish a school or another kind of education. We got to know the problems of epilepsy patients dealing with the disease and its way of life, its measures and handicaps. We also established their views and wishes to be further educated about the disease. The survey's results can also help further nurse health care planning which would substantially contribute to improve the life of epilepsy patients. With this purpose in mind, we created a programme for establishing a school for epilepsy patients.
