V prvem (teoretičnem) delu sta predstavljena anatomija dojke in rak dojke. V okviru poglavja rak dojke je predstavljena epidemiologija raka dojk, dejavniki tveganja, sumljiva znamenja, zgodnje odkrivanje raka dojk, samopregledovanje dojk, zdravniški pregledi in mamografija.

Title:How to prevent breast cancer from the point of health professionals
Abstract:The diploma thesis with the title Prevention of Breast Cancer from the Health Professionals' Perspective is composed of two parts. In the first (theoretical) part, the anatomy of the breast and breast cancer are presented. In the section on breast cancer, the epidemiology of breast cancer, risk factors, suspicious signs, early detection of breast cancer, self–examination of breasts, medical examinations, and mammography are explained. It also includes the presentation of health education and a detailed plan for a health education prevention programme for preventing breast cancer. The second (empirical) part of the diploma thesis presents the discoveries from the research which was used to determine the role of health professionals in Carinthian gynaecological clinics, in the field of primary breast cancer prevention. The research was carried out in the Carinthian gynaecological clinics, namely in the Health Care Centres of Radlje ob Dravi, Dravograd, Ravne na Koroškem, and General Hospital Slovenj Gradec. The inquiry was performed at the end of May 2009. The results of the research revealed that the majority of Carinthian gynaecological clinics had a sufficient amount of leaflets and posters concerning breast cancer, however, most of the centres lacked models or films with the topic of breast cancer prevention. Most health professionals try to educate women through discussion, but a large percentage of gynaecological clinics do not organize lectures or workshops, in order to educate women about the proper self–examination of their breasts.
