Nato so postale aktualne video konference, mobilni telefoni in internet. Danes se zdi, da gre čas hitreje. A vendarle hitrost časa ostaja enaka. Instant messaging), spletne klepetalnice in virtualne skupnosti.

Title:Project management in virtual teams within virtual communities for open source software development
Abstract:With the Internet, the way of interaction and communication between people, has changed. Before that, the only way to stay in touch with people was usage of fixed network phone, snail mail or personal contact (eye-to-eye communication). Then, video conferencing was actual at work and mobile phones at every household and now almost everyone already heard about the Internet. Today's feeling is that the time is running faster. However, the speed of time stays the same. Just communication is more dynamic, we have more options for interaction and collaboration, also with people at the other part of the World. Today, for real time communication we can use for example IP phones, e-mails, instant messaging, chat forums and virtual communities. There is no problem today to exchange photos, video streams and other documents, with a view of personal or business collaboration. Many researches from areas of individual and team psychology and information and communication technologies were conducted till now. And both of these topics are interested also with the areas of online business and performing project work. Project work supported with collaboration and communication technologies and performed mainly via the Internet is called a virtual project work. Today, this is an upward trend, both within and outside organizations. The later – working on project work within virtual communities, we will explore in this dissertation. Specifically, we will answer on two research questions that relate to the virtual project management. Before this, we will define the concept of virtuality and look deeper into the work of individual virtual team. Since there are more types of virtual teams, we decided to study only those, where members gather and collaborate especially for the development of open source solutions. We are researching if such project teams implicitly use the basic principles of project management, as it is usual in conventional development projects. We will also answer the question whether in virtual teams we have chosen for the research sample the role of Project Manager is required. At this point we should stress that in this work we will not explore the consequences of project management on the potential success or failure of the projects.
