Abstract:Človekova osebnost je nekaj zelo posebnega, izvirnega in samosvojega v človeku, zaradi nje postane človek enkraten. A vseeno bo del osebnosti verjetno zmeraj ostal nerazložljiv in skrivnosten, kar žene ter bo gnalo k novim razmišljanjem in odpiralo vrata morda nastanku novih teorij osebnosti človeka.

Title:Some of the most important personality theories and their importance to criminological
Abstract:A human's personality is something unique, exceptional and self standing in a human. It makes a man one of a kind. It is shaped from psychophysical features of an individual and from social environment, which is also a key factor in developing of personality. Each human that is shaped, motivated and driven to incriminating actions by the objective conditions, has a certain personality structure that is distinguished by several individually expressed characteristics. Some personal characteristics are also crucial for development of aggressive behavior in individuals. There are so many different sciences and definitions about aggressive behavior as there are explanations of personal activity – personality theories which present the final step in researching of personality. We can arrange these personal theories into groups depending on the source of personality and the centre of personality. The source or the centre can be the person itself, its biological background (biological theories), motives (motivation theories, psychodynamic and humanistic theories), features (structure theories), cognitive characteristics (cognitive theories) or its environment, stimulants (behavior theories), social situations and social learning (social theories). There are also some theories that try to equilibrate the study of personal and environmental factors as the source of personality (functional , integral, interactive and socially cognitive theories). In my research paper I have focused on one group of personality theories; these would be psychodynamic theories and their more prominent representatives (Freud, Adler, Jung, Horney, Fromm). I have presented in more detail, the views of personality, aggressiveness and delinquency. While researching the theories of human personality I came to a conclusion that there is no theory which could be the “one”. Each of them views the personality from a different angle and so represents only a part of the whole personality theory. Only when we join together the content of all these theories and stand back to look at it from a distance, we can talk about a system that explains the personality as such. Either way a part of human personality will always stay mysterious and inexplicable, which will force us to new thinking and will open the door to new theories about human personality.
