Title:Market-Oriented operation of the household with a solar power plant and battery storage
Abstract:The installation of solar power plants in Slovenia has grown substantially over the past decade, largely driven by favorable incentive policies that have encouraged energy production from renewable sources. The latest net metering scheme officially ended at the end of 2023 for new users, while already connected power plants remain under the same annual energy netting billing model. The search for new incentive models has led to the concept of virtual power plants, which would entail the virtual aggregation of individual units and their joint balancing participation in the electricity market. To achieve this goal, a sufficient number of small power plants and a favorable economic model are needed to convince users to build and join such a scheme. This thesis will present the method of selling electricity produced by solar panels and compare the electricity prices under different trading methods, considering varying levels of risk. To achieve better performance, a small energy storage system will also be included in the study.
