Abstract:
Nadzorovana mehanska ventilacija v kombinaciji s sedativi predstavlja ključno terapevtsko strategijo pri kritično bolnih pacientih na enotah intenzivne terapije, katerih zdravje zahteva neprekinjen nadzor skozi ves dan. Kljub učinkovitosti pa je treba pri predpisovanju sedativov izkazovati skrajno previdnost, saj lahko njihova nepravilna uporaba privede do trajnih neželenih učinkov ter celo do razvoja odvisnosti. Skrbna in prilagojena uporaba teh terapevtskih sredstev je ključnega pomena za optimalno okrevanje pacientov.

Title:
Effects of sedatives in long-term sedation and mechanical ventilation
Abstract:
Controlled mechanical ventilation combined with sedation is a key therapeutic strategy for critically ill patients in intensive care units whose health requires continuous monitoring throughout the day. Despite their effectiveness, extreme caution should be exercised when prescribing sedatives, as their inappropriate use can lead to permanent side effects and even the development of dependence. Careful and tailored use of these therapeutic agents is crucial for optimal recovery of patients.
