Metode: V diplomskem delu smo naredili pregled literature, ki smo jo z iskalnim nizom našli v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL in Web of Science.

Title:Factors that influence the decision to vaccinate against tick-borne meningitis among the European population
Abstract:Abstract Introduction: Tick-borne meningitis is a disease of the central nervous system that affects between 5,000 and 10,000 Europeans annually. Vaccines against it are very effective in protection against the disease. However, the vaccination recommendations greatly differ from country to country, which can cause much uncertainty in the population. The purpose of the final work is to research which factors influence the decision to be vaccinated against tick-borne meningitis among the population in Europe. Methods: We have reviewed the literature found in databases PubMed, CINAHL and Web of Science. The selection process is presented with a PRISMA diagram. We also carried out the and data synthesis of obtained results. Results: We found 141 articles, from which 6 were included in the final analysis. The most common factors that prompted the respondents to get vaccinated were: fear of the disease, living accomodation/spending free time in an endemic area and advice from a friend or a doctor. The factors that were the most common reason as to why the respondents were against vaccination were: the belief of the respodents that vaccination is not neccessary, that they are not exposed to or that they do not visit risky areas, fear of the side effects and prices of the vaccine. Discussion and conclusion: It's cruical that the way vaccination is being promoted is done in a way, that answers all the doubts that Europeans may have and that it informs them to which extent they are exposed to the risk of the infection.
