Title:Spolne zlorabe v športu - analiza primera Larryja Nassarja : diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa Varstvoslovje

Abstract:Spolne zlorabe v športu so razširjen problem, ki se pojavlja v različnih športnih panogah. Kultura molka in dinamika moči v odnosih med športniki, trenerji ter drugimi osebami ustvarjajo okolje, kjer se spolne zlorabe lahko razvijajo in širijo ter imajo negativne posledice tako za žrtve, kot tudi za celotno športno skupnost. Eden izmed najodmevnejših primerov, ki je pritegnil pozornost javnosti, je bil primer Larryja Nassarja v ameriški gimnastiki. Primer je razkril številne spolne zlorabe mladih športnic pod pretvezo medicinskih postopkov. V diplomskem delu ugotavljamo, da so bile varnostne organizacije zaradi prikrivanja spolnih zlorab in neustrezne zagotavljanja varnosti športnic tarče številnih ostrih kritik. Posledice Nassarjevega primera so presegale meje ameriške gimnastike, kjer so bili kasneje sprejeti strožji ukrepi za preprečevanje in prepoznavanje spolnih zlorab v ameriški gimnastični zvezi. Primer je spodbudil aktivne razprave in reforme v vseh športnih organizacijah po svetu, vključno s Slovenijo, kar je privedlo do spodbujanja novih pristopov in ukrepov za odkrivanje ter preprečevanje spolnih zlorab. V diplomskem delu smo opredelili osnovne pojme spolnih zlorab, njihove oblike in značilnosti. Osredotočili smo se na spolne zlorabe v športu, značilnosti žrtev in storilcev, njihov odnos ter vzroke za neprijavo spolnih zlorab. Na koncu smo s pomočjo zlatih kriminalističnih vprašanj analizirali tudi primer Larryja Nassarja, ki se je zgodil v ameriški gimnastični zvezi.

Title:Sexual abuses in sport - case analysis of Larry Nassar
Abstract:Sexual abuse in sport is a widespread problem that occurs in various sports. The culture of silence and the power dynamics between athletes, coaches and others create an environment where sexual abuse can develop and spread, with negative consequences for both the victims and the entire sports community. One of the most impactful cases that attracted attention was the Larry Nassar case in American gymnastics. The case revealed numerous instances of sexual abuse against young female athletes disguised as medical procedures.. In the bachelor´s thesis, we found that safety organizations became targets of sharp criticism for allegedly concealing sexual abuses and failing to ensure the safety of female athletes. The consequences of Nassar's case extended beyond the boundaries of American gymnastics, leading to the implementation of stricter measures for preventing and recognizing sexual abuses in the American Gymnastics Association. The case has prompted active discussions and reforms in all sports organisations around the world, including Slovenia, leading to the promotion of new approaches and measures to detect and prevent sexual abuse. In bachelor´s thesis, we have defined the basic concepts of sexual abuse, its forms and characteristics. We focused on sexual abuse in sport, the characteristics of the victims and perpetrators, their relationship and the reasons for not reporting sexual abuses. Finally, we analysed the case of Larry Nassar, which took place in the American Gymnastics Federation, using the golden crime questions.
