Abstract:
Diplomsko delo je razdeljeno na dva dela, in sicer na teoretični in empirični del. V prvem delu na kratko opredelimo raziskovalni problem, zapišemo raziskovalna vprašanja in definiramo teoretične koncepte. Najprej ob zaključku študija študentje oddajo zaključno delo v referat v tiskani obliki. Ta dela obdelajo in shranijo v knjižnici. Z leti se je v visokošolskih fakultetnih knjižnicah pojavila prostorska stiska. Z razvojem informacijsko-komunikacijske tehnologije se po svetu in tudi pri nas pojavi ideja o digitalizaciji gradiva. Na Univerzi v Mariboru se pojavi repozitorij DKUM, kamor študentje oddajajo zaključna dela v elektronski obliki. Za potrebe diplomskega dela smo oblikovali anketni vprašalnik. Z njegovo pomočjo smo skušali raziskati in opisati, kako se je zaradi DKUM-a spremenil postopek oddaje zaključnih del na UM. Ugotavljamo, da so na Univerzi v Mariboru uspešno prešli s samo tiskane na elektronsko obliko oddaje zaključnih del. Skrajšali in poenotili so postopek oddaje zaključnih del. Omogočili so dostop do polnih besedil na daljavo. Digitalizacija je omogočila shranjevanje velikih količin podatkov na enem mestu in posledično odpravila problem prostorske stiske. Zaznali smo, da Izposoja tiskanih zaključnih del pada, medtem ko število vpogledov v polna besedila zaključnih del narašča.

Title:
Digitalization of Final Theses of the University of Maribor
Abstract:
The final thesis is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical and empirical part. In the first part, we briefly define the research problem, write down research questions and define theoretical concepts.First of all, at the end of their studies, students submit their final thesis to Student Affairs Office in paper form. These final theses are processed and stored in the library. Over the years, space constraints have appeared in higher education faculty libraries. With the development of information-communication technology, the idea of digitalizaton of material has appeared around the world and also in our country. The DKUM repository appears at the University of Maribor, where students submit final theses in electronic form. For the needs of the final thesis we designed a survey questionnaire. With its help, we tried to investigate and describe how the process of submitting final theses at UM has changed due to DKUM. We note that at the University of Maribor they have successfully switched from only printed to electronic submission of final theses. They shortened and unified the procedure of submission of final theses. They enabled access to full texts remotely. Digitalization made it possible to store large amounts of data in one place and subsequently eliminated the problem of space constraints. We have noticed that the borrowing of printed final theses is decreasing, while the number of views of the full texts of final theses is increasing.
