Abstract:Diplomsko delo izpostavlja pomen in način beleženja v informacijskih rešitvah. Vse večja razpršenost in šibka povezanost med seboj neodvisnih komponent sodobnih informacijskih sistemov so pripeljali do potrebe po združevanju dnevniških zapisov v ločenih sistemih oddaljenega beleženja, ki smo jih orisali z njihovimi lastnostmi. Ti sistemi dopolnjujejo obstoječe informacijske rešitve in prinašajo mnoge nove razvojne in poslovne priložnosti. V podanem primeru smo izbran sistem oddaljenega beleženja povezali z beleženjem v rešitvah, napisanih v PL/SQL programskem jeziku, ki se izvajajo v Oracle podatkovni bazi. Z uvedbo oddaljenega beleženja smo prikazali, kako lahko preprosteje spremljamo dnevniške zapise in izkoristimo možnosti vpogleda v podatke iz različnih perspektiv, še posebej, kadar sistem oddaljenega beleženja ponuja vpogled v dogajanje celotnega informacijskega sistema. Številne možnosti povezovanja, združevanja in vizualizacije podatkov opazovalcu takoj vzbudijo pozornost, kadar pride do odklona od trenda aktivnosti v sistemu. Aktivacija strojenga spremljanja podatkov omogoča takojšnje obveščanje o nepričakovanem vedednju informacijske rešitve ali pa celo sproži postopke samoupravljanja.

Title:Remote logging systems for IT solutions
Abstract:The work emphasizes the importance of logging in IT solutions. Distributed environments and weakly coupled components brought the need for collecting log records by sending them to remote logging systems, which we outlined and defined by their unique properties. These systems supplement existing IT solutions and expose important view for new development and business opportunities. We used existing logging solutions, based on PL/SQL language, being executed in Oracle database, and connected them to our referenced remote logging system. By introducing remote logging capabilities, we were able to monitor our logs in much easier way. They enabled us to have a wider perspective over the whole IT system, especially when the logging system was used in form of a complete observability platform. Visualizations, data bindings, powerful search engines and real-time analytics will assist operators to easily discover unpredictable system behaviour. Activating machine live data monitoring can fire alerts or even execute specific tasks.
