Title:Inclusion and inclusive approaches in equine assisted therapy
Abstract:This master's thesis consists of theoretical and of practical part. In the former, inclusion and equine-assisted therapy were introduced and people with special needs were defined; firstly, they were defined in general terms and then four groups were described in detail, which was the basis for the practical part of this thesis. The purpose was to show the positive influence and effects of inclusive approaches, teaching methods and forms of work in individual equine-assisted therapy approaches and activities with the four chosen groups of people with special needs: a person with autism spectrum disorder, a person with Down syndrome, a person with a severe mental disorder and a person with mobility impairments – a person with hemiparesis. A collection of the most effective inclusive approaches, teaching methods and forms of work, with which a therapist for equine-assisted therapy improves the effects of therapy mentioned above, is introduced for each of the four chosen groups of people with special needs.
