Title:Vpliv prehranskih intervencij zdravstvenih delavcev na kakovost življenja onkoloških bolnikov

Abstract:Uvod: Kakovost življenja je pri bolnikih z onkološkim obolenjem velikokrat znižana. Zaradi narave bolezni ta pogosto vodi v izgubo telesne mase in podhranjenost. Posledično se znižata kakovost življenja in terapevtski odziv. Z različnimi pristopi se to pri onkoloških bolnikih lahko prepreči. Namen tega zaključnega dela je pregledati vpliv prehranskih intervencij na kakovost življenja onkoloških bolnikov. Metode: Izvedli smo sistematični pregled strokovne literature na zastavljeno tematiko. Članke smo iskali z vnaprej zastavljenim iskalnim nizom v naslednjih bazah podatkov: PuBmed, Cinahl in Medline. Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo in metodo kompilacije. Izbrane članke smo nato kritično ocenili z orodjem ter analizirali in sintetizirali rezultate. Rezultati: Onkološko obolenje velikokrat povzroči znižan prehranski status, kakovost življenja in posledično tudi odziv na zdravljenje. Z individualiziranimi prehranskimi intervencijami se lahko omili ali odstrani neželene učinke bolezni in njenega zdravljenja, kar posledično povzroči dvig kakovosti življenja in toleranco na zdravljenje. Razprava in sklep: Pri bolezni, za katero še ne poznamo učinkovitega zdravljenja in le to povzroča številne stranske učinke, je vsako dejanje, ki lahko dvigne kakovost življenja takšnih bolnikov, dragoceno. Tako so za boljšo kakovost življenja zgodnje, individualizirane in intenzivne prehranske intervencije učinkovite ter dobro sprejete s strani onkoloških bolnikov in bi se morale začeti uvajati v standardno zdravljenje.

Title:The effect of nutrition interventions carried out by health care workers on the quality of life of oncology patients
Abstract:Introduction: The quality of life often impaired in oncological patients. Patients can often loose weight or become malnourished because of the disease's nature. Consequently both quality of life and therapeutic response falls. Different approaches can ameliorate this symptoms. The purpose of this final work is to review the current literature and appraise the effect of nutrition interventions on quality of life of oncological patients. Methods: We performed a systematic review of current professional literature on the raised topic. With in advanced formed search string, we were searching for the articles in these databases: PubMed, Cinahl and Medline. We used descriptive method and compilation method. Selected articles were then critically appraised and the results were analyzed and synthesized. Results: Oncological disease often causes a deterioration of nutrition status, quality of life and consequently lower treatment response. With individualised nutrition intervention, we can ameliorate or remove unwanted side effects which can then results in higher quality of life and treatment tolerance. Discussion and conclusion: For the disease for which we currently do not know an optimal treatment which would not cause such serious unwanted side effects, every intervention that can make a better quality of life is utmost important for this patients. Early and individualized nutrition interventions were shown to be effective with improving the quality of life of oncological patients and should be included in the standard treatment.
