Abstract:Magistrsko delo obravnava proces optimizacije ustvarjanja urnikov in razporejanja zaposlenih, s katerim se dnevno srečujejo vodje in organizatorji več vrst industrij, kjer je potrebno izmensko delo.

Title:USAGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FOR EMPLOYEE SCHEDULING
Abstract:This master's thesis deals with the process of optimizing employee scheduling, which is required daily by leaders and organizers of different types of industries where shift work is required. Process optimization is achieved by automatic employee scheduling, where we can use artificial intelligence approaches that help create schedules with efficient calculations. We assume that computer calculations will be crucial in the process of optimization. We developed a web application and set up the necessary infrastructure, and we expect that such a solution will automatically solve the problem of employee scheduling. We studied the theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence, the areas of constraint satisfaction, metaheuristics and the problem domain. We find that the technologies and approaches used are not limited to the problem domain of employee scheduling, but also to a number of other problems. We achieved all the set goals and confirmed our assumption that the computer will solve the problem of scheduling employees faster and more efficiently. We also find that solving constraint satisfaction problems with metaheuristics is of crucial importance when we want to provide an optimal solution within a reasonable time.
