Abstract:V magistrskem delu je raziskan pomen socialne opore in socialnih omrežij za zdravje mladih. Opredeljeni so pojmi mladostništvo, socialne opore, socialna omrežja, oblike socialnih opor in zdravje.

Title:Social Support and Health of Young People in Slovenia
Abstract:This master's thesis explores the importance of social support and social networks for the health of young people. The concepts of adolescence, social support, social networks, forms of social support and health are defined. Social support means a support from a familiar person, which can be expressed in various forms, such as material, emotional, informational social support, and socializing. Social networks consist of people with whom we form ties and represent a source of social support. A review of existing literature and past research examining the relationship between the social support and health has been conducted. In the empirical part of the paper, the connection between social support and self-assessment of health is investigated on a representative sample of Slovenian youth (N = 1200), with a special focus on the role of parental social support for youth health and the importance of loneliness. social exclusion in relation to risk factors affecting health. By analyzing several variables, we established the existence of a positive relationship between social support and health among young people in Slovenia and confirmed the role of parental social support during adolescence.
