Abstract:
V diplomskem delu predstavimo kodiranje in dekodiranje formata WebP, ki omogoča kakovostno stiskanje rastrskih slik za svetovni splet. Najprej opišemo delovanje izgubnega stiskanja, zatem pa še stiskanja brez izgub. V zadnjem delu naloge predstavimo rezultate primerjav stiskanja s formatom JPEG in JPEG2000.

WebP format
Abstract:
The encoding and decoding of WebP format are presented in this thesis. The format supports high-quality compression of raster images for the World Wide Web. After an introduction, the process of lossy compression is described in detail, followed by the lossless compression process. The last part of the thesis presents the results of the comparisons with JPEG and JPEG 2000 formats.
