Abstract:V diplomski nalogi predstavimo dosegljivost in pozabo video iger preteklosti ter pravni vidik uporabe video iger pri emulaciji. Nato razložimo kaj so emulatorji, opišemo njihovo delovanje in navedemo zgodovino emulacije. Podamo tudi probleme pri zagonu iger ter njihove izboljšave. V nadaljevanju diplomskega dela nato predstavimo izboljšave video iger preteklosti z novimi tehnologijami in tipe izboljšav. Ali nove tehnologije pripomorejo h kakovostnejši izkušnji, ugotavljamo s kvantitativno analizo, kot tudi z izvedbo eksperimenta, pri katerem uporabimo igro preteklosti, ki uporablja tehnologijo sledenja žarkov v realnem času. V zaključku povzamemo naše ugotovitve in podamo napotke za nadaljnje delo.

Title:Availability, forgettance and improvements of the past video games and their use with the help of emulators
Abstract:In the thesis, we present the reachability and oblivion of past video games and the legal aspects behind them. Then we explain what emulators are, how they work, and describe the history of emulation. We also present the problems in starting games and their improvements. In the continuation, we offer the improvements of past video games with new technologies and types. Whether new technologies contribute to quality experience is determined by quantitative analysis, as well as by conducting an experiment using a past video game that uses real-time ray tracing technology. In conclusion, we summarize findings and provide guidelines for further work.
