Abstract:
Podjetje Vitiva proizvodnja in storitve, d.d. je eden izmed večjih proizvajalcev izvlečkov iz rožmarina v Evropi. Končni produkt so rastlinski izvlečki rožmarina in drugih rastlin uporaba katerih je primerna v prehrambni industriji, prehrani za živali, v farmacevtskih izdelkih in v kozmetiki. Proizvodnja poteka s pomočjo ekstrakcij v različnih topilih, kjer najprej rožmarin ekstrahirajo z organskim topilom (aceton, etanol, metanol, voda), nato pa ekstrakt in tropine ločijo z nadtlačno filtracijo ter zberejo v zbirnem kontejnerju. Kot stranski produkt procesa nastajajo rožmarinove tropine. Glavna tematika magistrskega dela je raziskati primernost rožmarinovih tropin za zgorevanje v kotlu z namenom izrabe energije te biomase. V eksperimentalnem delu magistrske naloge smo opazovali čas do vžiga goriva, čas od pojavitve do ugasnitve plamena. Prav tako smo ob zaključku eksperimenta analizirali maso pepela. Testirali smo različne kombinacije vlažnih tropin z lesnimi peleti in enake kombinacije vlažnih tropin z lesnimi sekanci, enako smo ponovili z rožmarinovimi tropinami, ki smo jih predhodno povsem posušili. Z dovajanjem toplote za vžig od spodaj v laboratoriju, so se nam vžgala prav vsa goriva in vse kombinacije goriv z izjemo samo vlažnih rožmarinovih tropin. Analiza rezultatov je pokazala, da bi za obstoječi kotel na podjetju Vitiva proizvodnje in storitve d.d., ki je konstruiran za suha goriva, bilo primerno kuriti predhodno posušene odpadne rožmarinove tropine kot same ali v kakršnikoli kombinaciji z lesnimi sekanci ali z lesnimi peleti.

Title:
Waste rosemary cake energy utilization
Abstract:
Company Vitiva d.d. is one of the biggest producers of rosemary extract in Europe. The final product is plant extract of rosemary and other plants that are suitable for use in the food industry, pet food industry, in phaurmaceuticals and cosmetics. Production works on extractions with various solvents, where rosemary cake is produced as a waste. In the production rosemary plant is extracted with an organic solvent (acetone, ethanol, methanol, water), then the extract and rosemary cake are separated by pressure filtration and collected in a collection container. In the master thesis was investigated the suitability of waste rosemary cake for boiler combustion with purpose to use energy of biomass. We measured the time until the fuel ignited, the time when the flame appeared and until it went out, and finally weighed the mass of ash. We tested different combinations of moist rosemary cake with wood pellets and identical combinations of moist rosemary cake with wood chips, the same was repeated with previously dried rosemary cake. By supplying heat for ignition from below in the laboratory, all our fuels and all fuel combinations were ignited, with the exception of only moist rosemary cake. The analysis results showed that for the existing boiler at Vitiva production and services d.d., which is designed for dry fuels, it would be appropriate to burn pre-dried waste rosemary cake alone or in any combination with wood chips or wood pellets.
