Title:Svetlobna onesnaženost na območju doline Voglajne in Zgornjega Posotelja ter njen vpliv na vegetacijo

Abstract:Svetlobno onesnaženje je oblika onesnaževanja, do katere je privedla človeška želja po daljšanju dneva. Slednje so ljudje dosegli z različnimi svetilkami, ki so s svojo umetno svetlobo osvetljevale prostor. Da svetloba v nočnem času predstavlja onesnaževanje, smo se v Sloveniji začeli zavedati v 80. letih prejšnjega stoletja, kljub temu pa je stanje na tem področju še vedno zelo zaskrbljujoče. Glavni vir te oblike onesnaževanja je javna razsvetljava, dostikrat pa so preveč in nepravilno razsvetljeni tudi različni objekti. Posledice svetlobnega onesnaževanja so astronomske, biološke, okoljske, zdravstvene in ekonomske. Čeprav posledice poznamo, pa so nekatere izmed njih premalo raziskane. V magistrski nalogi smo ugotovili, da je območje doline Voglajne in Zgornjega Posotelja svetlobno onesnaženo. Glavni vir svetlobne onesnaženosti predstavlja javna razsvetljava večjih naselij, ki se nahajajo na tem območju, na sij neba pa vplivajo tudi naselja, ki so lahko tudi do 150 kilometrov oddaljena od nas. Zaradi odboja svetlobe od oblakov oblačno vreme le še poslabša razmere. Z gibanjem letne dinamike vegetacijskega indeksa (NDVI), s številom odbojev lidarskih točk in fenološkimi opazovanji vzorca navadne breze (Betula pendula Roth) na izbranih osvetljenih in »neosvetljenih« habitatih smo dokazali, da svetlobno onesnaženje vpliva na vegetacijo. Listje osvetljenih brez ostaja na krošnjah dlje časa kot listje brez, ki niso osvetljene.

Title:Light pollution and its impact on vegetation in the Voglajna valley and upper Posotelje area
Abstract:Light pollution is a form of pollution, which appeared due to human desire to prolong the day. Latter was achieved with the help of various lamps that lit up the whole room with their artificial light. In Slovenia, awareness regarding light at night being polluted developed in the 1980s, nevertheless, the situation in this area is still very concerning. The main source of this kind of pollution is public lighting and many different buildings are too enlightened and improperly lit. The consequences of light pollution are astronomical, biological, environmental, health and economical. Even though we know all of these consequences, some of them are still insufficiently researched. In the master’s thesis, we have established that the Voglajna valley and upper Posotelje area is light polluted. The main source of pollution is public lighting of bigger settlements in this area and the sky radiance is also affected by settlements, which can be up to 150 kilometres away. Due to reflection of light from the clouds, cloudy weather only makes the situation worse. With the help of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) movement, the number of reflections of lidar points and phenological observation of common birch sample (Betula pendula Roth), we have proved that light pollution affects vegetation. Leaves of illuminated trees stay on for a longer period of time than leaves of birches that have not been illuminated.
