Abstract:Živimo v 21. stoletju, v obdobju, ki ga zaznamujeta digitalizacija in nove tehnologije. Morali smo se spoznati z digitalizacijo, sodobnimi IT rešitvami, pojasnili smo teoretične pristope k implementaciji tehnologije v organizaciji.

Title:Implementation of new IT solution with a reverse mentoring
Abstract:We live in the 21st century, an era marked by digitisation and new technologies. Digitalisation surrounds us at every turn, from driving a car that gives us digital information on speed, consumption, checks our concentration while driving, autonomously keeps to its lane or brakes to avoid an accident. To automatic door openers and contactless payments in shops. You can make an appointment with your doctor by email and submit your tax return via the online portal, all in minutes, without any transport costs. Smart watches keep us healthy by reminding us to take enough steps, drink enough water, measuring our heart rate and telling us what's happening and what our body is doing. It's all digitalisation that improves our quality of life. But it also brings risks and dangers, in the form of addiction and dependence. In particular, it can be a challenge for anyone who is not familiar with new technology and needs to learn about it and embrace it to make it useful in their daily life. In the world of business, it is no different, but the benefits and risks are even more pronounced. In fact, organisations can save tens or even hundreds of millions of euros and improve business performance with new technology solutions. On the other hand, new technology can cause them to lose their entire production or have their database hacked by a hacker, compromising their security. For companies and organisations from the last century, or those with older employees who have not lived with technology since they were young, the big problem is where, how and, above all, how to introduce or implement new technology solutions into their business process. This poses a problem for the manager in the organisation, because once the appropriate IT solution is found, the challenge is how to implement or introduce this solution into the business process, so that the new system is accepted by the employees and is used optimally, bringing the desired added value to the organisation. We hypothesised that younger employees are more proficient with modern technology than older employees, and that reverse mentoring can solve such a problem. We had to learn about digitalisation, modern IT solutions, and explain theoretical approaches to implementing technology in an organisation. We chose reverse mentoring as a way to implement the new IT solution and explored it through theory and practice. In the applied part of the study, we included a Slovenian company from the economy, which also implemented the new IT solution. We have shown that implementing a new IT solution in an organisation is challenging and needs special attention, and by using reverse mentoring, we have shown that implementing an IT solution is more efficient. In practice, we have also found that in fact reverse mentoring is closely linked to the implementation of the new technology itself, because even if reverse mentoring is not formally established, it naturally develops to a certain extent on an informal level.
