Abstract:Humani papilomavirusi so virusi, ki povzročajo okužbo spolovil, rodil in zadnjika.

Title:Awareness of high school students about prevention of hpv infections
Abstract:Human papillomaviruses are viruses that cause infection of the genitals, reproductive organs and anus. There are more than 100 different genotypes of human papillomaviruses. They are dangerous for both women and men. Infection can also lead to cancerous illnesses. We will use a quantitative research methodology, which is related to the philosophy of positivism, and a descriptive research method. The results of the research were obtained with the help of an online survey questionnaire via the 1KA application. We used a descriptive statistical method to analyze the data as well as Microsoft Excel for analysis of them. The results of the survey questionnaire were presented verbally and graphically. We found out that high school students are poorly acquainted with infections caused by human papillomaviruses. The proportion of vaccinated high school students against human papillomavirus is low. There is still misinformation among high school students about the importance of vaccination and the belief that vaccine and infection are merely a problem of women. With appropriate information end education, we can reduce and limit the spread of human papillomavirus infection. Healthcare professionals are the ones who can influence others through education and promotion of vaccination against papillomaviruses. The virus is mainly passed on among young people, so it makes sense to inform and educate children and young people about human papillomavirus and the importance of vaccination for both sexes.
