Raziskavo smo izvedli z metodo polstrukturiranih intervjujev, s pomočjo katerih smo želeli podrobno raziskati tematiko izdelave bioplastike v praksi, jo kritično ovrednotiti ter jo umestiti v koncept trajnostnih rešitev.

Title:Study of sustainability and challenges in bioplastic suply chain
Abstract:The diploma thesis researches the topic of bioplastic as a sustainable solution closely connected with the amount of plastic waste, which is produced by the consumers' society. Because problems in the area are constantly growing, the level of recycling does not follow the pattern, new alternatives are becoming of key importance. In spite of numerous positive features, conventional plastic has extremely negative impact on the environment; therefore, searching for solutions on the level of sustainable development and induction of technological improvement is more than necessary. We will present bioplastic as a possible alternative because of the general opinion that it could help to lower environmental burden. We will analyze and critically evaluate the supply chain of bioplastic. The theoretical part will research challenges that the sustainable solutions face. The empirical part of the thesis includes a comparative analysis of good practice where we are interested in including bioplastic as an alternative solution in Slovenia as well as its supply chain and sustainability analysis. We have done the research with the method of half-structured interviews where we wanted to research in details the topic of producing bioplastic in practice, critically respond to it, and place it into the concept of sustainable solutions.
