Title:Inclusion of oberkrainer music in music education
Abstract:The master's thesis titled Inclusion of Oberkrainer music in music education studies how national music is included in the curriculum, how often class teachers include it in music education, and whether most Oberkrainer songs are suitable for inclusion in music education in the first and second educational period. The research involved 70 Slovenian elementary schools and 131 music teachers in the first and second education periods. We examined whether the teacher's personal position, their employment period and teaching environment affect inclusion of Oberkrainer music in music education. Since the syllabus does not contain teaching materials that contain Oberkrainer music, we conducted a research on which Oberkrainer music compositions would be appropriate according to teachers to be included in the Music education curriculum during the first and second education periods. We found that whether class teachers follow Oberkrainer music or not, they feel it should be included in music education, even thought not many of them do. The research also found that the teachers chose Cebelar Ansambla Lojzeta Slaka as the most suitable among the offered compositions, and the least suitable one was Adijo madam Poskocnih muzikantov.
