Title:Služba državne varnosti in njeno spremljanje britanske obveščevalne službe v Socialistični republiki Sloveniji

Abstract:V pričujoči magistrski nalogi je obravnavano spremljanje delovanja britanske obveščevalne službe na ozemlju nekdanje SR Slovenije med letoma 1966 in 1988 s strani slovenske Službe državne varnosti (SDV). Zaradi lažjega razumevanja teme je najprej predstavljena zgodovina obeh varnostno-obveščevalnih služb. Pri tem je izpostavljena zgodovina jugoslovanske varnostno-obveščevalne službe, s poudarkom na njeni organizaciji v SR Sloveniji. Podrobneje je v magistrski nalogi predstavljen njen razvoj iz Varnostno-obveščevalne službe (VOS) v Oddelek za zaščito naroda (OZNA) v Upravo državne varnosti (UDV) in naposled reorganizacijo slednje v SDV. V nalogi so podrobneje opisane tudi metode, sredstva in organizacijska struktura slovenske SDV. Pregledu zgodovin obeh obveščevalnih služb in njuni primerjavi sledi osrednji del magistrske naloge: analiza spremljanja britanske obveščevalne službe s strani slovenske SDV. V tem delu je predstavljeno tudi spremljanje britanskih državljanov v SR Sloveniji. Obravnavana tematika je v slovenskem zgodovinopisju še povsem neraziskana.

Title:The State Security Service and its monitoring of the British Intelligence Service in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia
Abstract:This master's thesis deals with the monitoring of the activity of the British Intelligence Service on the territory of the former Socialist Republic of Slovenia between 1966 and 1988 by the Slovenian State Security Service (SDV). For a more thorough understanding of the topic, the histories of the two security and intelligence services are first presented. The history of the Yugoslav Security and Intelligence Service, together with its organization in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia, is emphasized. The Master's thesis also presents the evolution of the Yugoslav Security and Intelligence Service from the Security and Intelligence Service (VOS) to the Department for the People’s Protection (OZNA) to the State Security Administration (UDV), and finally the reorganization of the latter into the State Security Service. In the thesis are also described in detail the methods and means of operation, and the organizational structure of the Slovenian State Security Service. Following the review of the histories of the two intelligence services and their comparison is the main part of the master’s thesis: the analysis of the monitoring of the activity of the British Intelligence Service by the Slovenian State Security Service. In this section is also presented the monitoring of the activities of British citizens in the Socialist Republic of Slovenia. The topic under discussion is unexplored in Slovenian historiography.
