Rezultati so v večji meri potrdili naše hipoteze in predvidevanja. Izsledki raziskave so ključni predvsem za ozaveščanje mladostnikov in staršev o tveganem spolnem vedenju.

Title:Self-Regulation and self-control in relation to risky sexual behavior
Abstract:Risky behavior that is especially often among adolescents can very often have far-reaching consequences. Risky sexual behavior is closely linked to self-regulation and self-control, which are shaped in early childhood and continue developing also in adulthood. Parents play an important role in informing children about risky sexual behavior, and partly in determining to what extent self-regulation and self-control will develop in their child. The aim of our master's thesis was to establish how self-regulation and self-control are related to risky sexual behavior. We conducted a research and obtained needed information with three questionnaires (Adolescent Self-Regulatory Inventory - ASRI, Self-Control Scale and Sexual Risk Survey - SRS). Our research included students attending secondary schools in the Podravje region. The results showed that a higher degree of self-regulation and self-control among adolescents is associated with lesser involvement in risky sexual behaviors. Statistically significant gender differences show that boys are more likely to be involved in risky sexual behaviors than girls. It also showed statistically significant gender differences, such as boys more often engage in unprotected sexual relations. The results confirmed our hypotheses and predictions to a greater extent. The results of our research are of key importance for raising parents’ and adolescents’ awareness of risky sexual behavior.
