Abstract:V diplomski nalogi je raziskan koncept žvižgaštva, ki se pojavlja znotraj novinarskih virov. V začetku naloge je opisana njegova zgodovina, definicije in razlaga pojma, nato so predstavljeni zakoni, ki se nanašajo na varovanje novinarskih virov in prijaviteljev nepravilnosti. Na koncu je izvedena analiza in primerjava primerov zaščite novinarskih virov Evropskega sodišča za človekove pravice. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da je žvižgaštvo vedno bolj aktualna tema. Žvižgači so v Republiki Sloveniji pravno dobro zaščiteni, novinarji pa so dolžni spoštovati njihovo željo po anonimnosti, dokler je ne pretehta javni interes.

Title:Whistleblowing: law regulation and practice of the european court of human rights
Abstract:In this thesis, the concept of whistleblowing is investigated, which appears among journalistic sources. Its history is described in the beginning, with the definitions and explanation of the phenomenon. Next, the laws about protection of journalistic sources and reporters of irregularities are presented. Finally, the analysis and comparison of trials from the European Court of Human Rights, concerning journalistic sources, are made. In conclusion, the whistleblowing is still an open subject. The whistleblowers are well protected in the laws of the Republic of Slovenia and the journalists must respect their wish to remain anonymous until this would be overweighted by the public interest.
