S socializacijo otroci razvijejo navade, spretnosti, vrednote in nagibe, s katerimi postanejo odgovorni in ustvarjalni člani družbe.

Title:The development of social skills in performing scout activities for preschool-age children
Abstract:Social skills or competences, that enable a person to realize their goals and meet their needs in a social environment, should start developing in early childhood. Social skills that are not properly developed can lead to a number of different problems in adolescence and adulthood. Social development first takes place in smaller, intimate social groups (families), then in broader social groups and organizations. Children develop habits, skills, values and tendencies to become responsible and creative members of society through socializing. Socially interactive games with the aim to develop social skills allow children to function in different roles, develop solidarity, promote mutual assistance and respect diversity. The games help include those children who are less noticeable or those that are shunned, and at the same time encourage cooperation in achieving common goals. This kind of work is typical of Scout movement. In the practical part of the research, we tested a method of work that scouts use when working with children and how effective this method is in achieving the goals in the field of the development of social competences. Through the implementation of scout activities, we analysed their progress in the social field on a real sample of pre-school children. The research concluded that scout activities have a positive impact on communication, interaction, problem solving, and knowledge of oneself and each other. The results of the research represent important progress in the field of research in both the development of social skills and scouting.
