Abstract:V magistrski nalogi smo sintetizirali porozne polimerne materiale s tehniko sintranja poli(metil metakrilatnih) (PMMA) zrn. PMMA zrnom smo z vrstičnim elektronskim mikroskopom določili premere in dobili velikostno porazdelitev. Zrna smo sintrali pri temperaturi 180 ˚C 24 h. Za dosego enakomerne razporeditve polimernih zrn v kalupu smo jih predhodno stresali. Kot monomere smo uporabilil divinil adipat (DVA) in 2-hidroksietil metakrilat (HEMA). Izvajali smo polimerizacijo kontinurine faze emulzije z visokim deležem notranje faze (HIP emulzije), in sicer termično v pečici in s fotopolimerizacijo v UV komori. Po polimerizaciji smo materiale čistili v Soxhletovem aparatu. Osnovne monolite (polimerizirana emulzija brez uporabe sintranega nosilca) smo čistili 24 h v izopropanolu, nosilce (polimerizirana emulzija z uporabo sintranega nosilca) pa 24 h v etilacetatu in 24 h v etanolu.

Title:Preparation of a hierarchical porous materials from multiple templates
Abstract:The main objective of the dissertation is the synthesis of porous poly materials by sintering poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) beads. Sintered PMMA beads were used as mould basis for emulsion polymerisation with high internal phase, followed by polymerisation. Material prepared in this way was later cleaned in the Soxhlet apparatus in the suitable solvent. This step enabled the removal of PMMA beads and achieved a porous structure. The diameter of PMMA beads was specified with a scanning electron microscope, which determined their size distribution. The process of sintering occurred at 180 ˚C for 24 h. In order to achieve a more even distribution of poly beads in the mould, they had to be shaken beforehand. 2-hydroxyenthyl methacrylate (HEMA) and divinyl adipate (DVA) were used as monomers. The polymerisation of the continuous phase of high internal phase emulsion (HIP emulsion) was carried out thermically in the oven and with photopolymerisation in the UV chamber. After polymerisation, the material was cleaned in the Soxhlet apparatus. Simple monoliths (emulsion polymerisation without the use of sintered templates) were cleaned in isopropanol for 24 h, the templates (emulsion polymerisation with the use of sintered templates) in ethyl acetate for 24 h and in ethanol for 24 h. Final products were characterised with a scanning electron microscope, the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and a porosimeter. Samples without the use of sintered PMMA beads were successfully synthesized for both systems, poly(DVA) and poly(HEMA-ko-MBAA). When synthesizing material with the use of a sintered template, poly(DVA) could only be sintered with photopolymerisation. On the other hand, poly(HEMA-ko-MBAA) material was obtained with photopolymerisation, as well as thermic polymerisation.
