Abstract:

Title:
Natural and recycled materials for art projects in kindergarten
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis we present different possibilities of using natural and waste materials in art classes for children. They can be recycled in many ways and used for various activities. In the theoretical part, we use a descriptive and comparative method in order to present the aspects of the curriculum and didactics in art education. We define artistic areas and present materials, both traditional and not traditional. We also highlight the project Ekovrtec (Eco Preschool) as a part of Ekošola (Eco School) programme that contributes to environmental awareness of children as well as adults, their parents. In the practical part, based on qualitative methods, we prepare, perform and evaluate six activities, each one from a different artistic area. We include recycled natural and waste materials, which were used for visual representations. We pay a lot of attention to recycling and correct handling with wastes on one hand and environmental care on the other.
