Abstract:Študenti predstavljajo pomemben del družbe. Zelo pomembno je, da študenti v času študija ponotranjijo sprejete družbene moralne in zakonske norme. Še posebej pomembno je, da se skladno s pravili vedejo študenti varnostnih ved in prava, ki bodo kasneje opravljali poklice s pooblastili, ki posegajo v osnovne pravice ljudi. Opravili smo raziskavo, kjer nas je zanimalo, kolikšno stopnjo integritete pripisujejo študenti varnostnih ved in prava svojim kolegom in koliko samim sebi, katere kršitve se jim zdijo najhujše in kateri so po njihovem mnenju najpogostejši vzroki kršenja pravil. V teoretičnem delu smo obravnavali pojem morale, etike in integritete. Bolj podrobno smo predstavili tudi pojem akademske integritete. Kasneje predstavimo pomembne zakone in predpise, ki urejajo študij na Fakulteti za varnostne vede Univerze v Mariboru in Pravne fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani ter pravila obeh fakultet tudi primerjamo. Na koncu smo predstavili tudi raziskave, ki se tičejo integritete študentov v Sloveniji in raziskave iz drugih držav ter glavne vzroke za kršitve in temu primerne rešitve. V empiričnem delu je predstavljena raziskava, ki smo jo naredili med študenti varnostnih ved Univerze v Mariboru in prava Univerze v Ljubljani. Podatke smo zbrali s pomočjo spletne ankete. Anketa je zajemala enajst vprašanj, ki so zajemala stopnjo integritete študentov, resnost kršitev, vzroke kršitev, odnos študentov do pravil in študija.

Title:The Importance of Academic Integrity: a Comparative Study of Law and Criminal Justice Students
Abstract:Students represent an important part of our society. It is important, that students during their time at the University internalize both moral and legal norms of the society. For criminal justice and law students, it is especially significant to abide the law and accepted rules, because they are going to be working in a profession with a wide amount of discretion rights. Our research was made to measure the levels of student integrity, to find out which is the most common reason for deviant behavior and to learn which violation they recognize as the most severe. In the theoretical part we discussed the concept of morality, ethics, and integrity. We made a detailed introduction to the concept of academic integrity. Later, we name important laws and regulations, that regulate the education system of Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security, University of Maribor and Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. The regulations of both faculties were being compared. In the end we presented other studies that are discussing academic integrity of students from Slovenia and from other countries and presented the main causes of misconducts and best solutions. In the empirical part, we presented our research that included law students from the University of Ljubljana and criminal justice students from the University of Maribor. Data was collected through online survey. Survey included eleven questions about the levels of student integrity, severity of conduct, causes for violations, and students attitude for regulations and educational program.
