Title:Economic analysis of the wind park in the area of senožeška brda
Abstract:State support for increasing the share of electricity generated from renewable sources has contributed to increasing interest in the construction of wind turbines in Slovenia. Investing in the construction and operation of wind turbines requires careful and thoughtful planning and evaluation of the project, which forms the basis for an investment decision to accept or reject the project. The master's thesis presents an analysis of the economic feasibility of a wind farm in Senožečka Brda. Taking into account legal constraints, two different models of the wind farm are selected. In order to evaluate the possible investment into the wind farm in Senožečka Brda, secondary data from the literature and data provided by wind power plant producers are used. By changing the input variables of wind speed and the purchase price of electricity, and sensitivity analysis of the model, the authors show that the financial outcome of the project is extremely sensitive to any change in the purchase prices guaranteed by the state. The investment criteria used demonstrate the non-viability of an investment at the market price of electricity, but the viability for purchase prices that take into account the government's operational financial support. At the same time, the different wind turbine technologies for the same nominal power and different wind speeds lead to substantial differences in financial outcomes. Future research should broaden the scope of data and factors that can influence the investment decision on the viability and implementation of the project.
