Abstract:Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti prehranjevalne navade bolnikov z demenco in določiti njihov prehranski status. Rezultati kažejo, da bolniki v začetni fazi Alzheimerjeve demence dnevno ne zaužijejo dovolj priporočenih hranil, predvsem beljakovin in tekočine. Ugotovili smo, da ima več kot 60 % bolnikov zmanjšano mišično maso. Prehranski status bolnikov ni ustrezen, saj pri 37,5 % bolnikih obstaja tveganje za podhranjenost. Menimo, da bolniki potrebujejo natančno prehransko obravnavo že v začetni fazi Alzheimerjeve demence.

Title:Dietary Habits and Nutritional Assasement of Dementia Patients
Abstract:The purpose of the study was to determine the eating habits of patients with dementia and to determine their nutritional status. The results show that patients in the initial phase of Alzheimer's dementia do not consume enough recommended nutrients daily, especially proteins and fluids. We found that more than 60 % of patients have reduced muscle mass. The nutritional status of patients is not appropriate, as there is a risk of malnutrition in 37,5 % of patients. We believe that patients need accurate nutritional treatment already in the initial phase of Alzheimer's dementia.
