Abstract:Perspektive razvoja mesta Rehau/Oberfranken – Prispevek k aplikativnem geografskem proučevanju malih mest V preteklih letih so se pogoji razvoja mest in občin močno spremenili. Internacionalizacija gospodarstva, vse večje konkurenca, spremembe gospodarske strukture, novi življenjski stili ter zmanjševanje števila prebivalcev so v današnjem času pomembna izhodišča pri načrtovanju razvoja občin. Tudi v prihodnje je pričakovati spremembe glede oskrbe, gospodarskih razmer, socialnih razmer in okoljskih vprašanj, ob čemer se bo spreminjalo razmerje med možnostmi in pastmi gospodarskega in socialnega razvoja. To še posebej velja za mesta na podeželju, kakršno je Rehau. Mesto leži v bližini nemško češke meje, v območju, ki ga označuje neugoden demografski razvoj. Osrednje vprašanje bodočega razvoja mesta Rehau je, kako ohraniti obstoječo industrijsko usmerjenost. Nič manj aktualno ni vprašanje demografskega razvoja. Menimo, da je rešitev v gospodarskih povezavah s sosednjimi občinami v regiji in oblikovanju mreže interesnih skupin. Možni poudarki prihodnjega razvoja so naslednji: • oblikovanje interesnih povezav s sosednjimi območji in gospodarskimi subjekti v regiji • sodelovanje med generacijami bi lahko bila rešitev za probleme na socialnem področju • izobraževanje prebivalcev • aktivnejše vključevanje prebivalcev pri odpravljanju socialnih konfliktov • izkoriščanje strateškega položaja v središču „nove Evrope“ Ob tem se postavlja še vprašanje, kako pri geografskem proučevanju malih mest upoštevati njihovo specifiko; dosedanji pristopi so namreč v veliki meri prilagojeni proučevanju velikih mest in urbanih aglomeracij, kjer imamo opraviti z drugačno socialno in gospodarsko strukturo od tiste v malih mestih.

Title:Development prospects of town Rehau/Oberfranken : a contribution to applied urban geography
Abstract:The attempt of a classification or allocation of functions for provincial towns reveals a exceedingly wide spectrum of manifestations, structures and perspectives. The palette ranges from examples showing traditional provincial structures with decreasing population and economic power to the "vital cities”, which came out with the EU competition. Localized in the environs of the Metropolises they are characterized by high communication dynamism and an highly attractive social environment. The successful industrial town Rehau situated in the rural space on the border to Czech Republic with the new development possibilities also belongs to this category. A huge number of geographic research projects prove that the common prejudice of the small town´s provincial fug - cultivated in particular of the metropolitan press - is not appropriate. However, other studies concerning the subject and finding further evidence will be necessary for the purpose of a resurgence of the geographic provincial town research.
