Abstract:
V podjetju je samo en strežnik, ki gosti spletno stran in bazo podatkov. Ker se nad bazo podatkov izvaja analiza, se ob visoki obremenitvi strežnik preneha odzivati. Cilj je na fizičnem strežniku narediti virtualna strežnika, ki bi razdelila breme med uporabniki in analizo baze ter povečala varnost podatkov z replikacijo baze. Projekt je izveden na osebnem računalniku, na katerega je naložen Virtualbox. Ustvarili smo virtualna računalnika, namestili potrebno programsko opremo in konfigurirali replikacijo baz podatkov. Rezultat sta virtualna strežnika, ki gostita spletni strežnik, poročilni strežnik in bazo podatkov. Med njima se izvaja replikacija baze podatkov. Replikacijo smo testirali s pomočjo spletne strani in aplikacije JasperReports Server. S tem smo zagotovili varnostno kopijo podatkov v primeru odpovedi glavnega strežnika. Prav tako se lahko istočasno izvajata delovni proces in analiza podatkov, saj sta strežnika ločena in imata ločena sredstva. Rešitev deluje zadovoljivo in je primerna za implementacijo v produkcijsko okolje, vendar so potrebna dodatna sredstva za virtualne računalnike in optimizacija strežnika za določeno okolje.

Title:
Implementation of database replication in a virtual enviroment
Abstract:
There is only one server in the company that hosts a website and a database. When load is high and the analysis is started on the database the server times out. The goal is to create two virtual machines that would split the load between users and analysis, and secure data with replication. The project was performed on a personal computer with installed Virtualbox. We have created two virtual computers, installed the necessary software and configured the database replication. The result is two virtual servers that host a webserver, a reports server and a database. Replication is performed between the virtual servers. Replication was tested with the help of a website and JasperReports server application. We have assured a backup of the data in case the main server fails. The work process and analysis can work simultaneously, because the servers are separate and have separate resources. The solution works well and is ready for production if there is enough resources and the servers are properly optimized for the specific instance.
