Abstract:
Namen raziskave je bil preučiti vzgojne stile staršev ter njihove vrednotne usmeritve in medsebojne povezave. Preučili smo, kako se vrednote staršev razlikujejo glede na izobrazbo, spol, velikost kraja in religioznost, zanimalo pa nas je tudi, kako starši privzgajajo vrednote in za katere si najbolj prizadevajo, da bi jih privzgojili svojim otrokom. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 78 otrok in 146 njihovih staršev. Na podlagi Vprašalnika starševske avtoritete PAQ in modificirane oblike Muskove lestvice vrednot MLV-M smo ugotovili, da pri starših prevladuje avtoritativen stil vzgajanja, ki ne kaže statistično pomembne povezave z vrednotami Muskove klasifikacije vrednot. Pri permisivnih starših obstaja šibka negativna statistično pomembna povezanost z moralnimi vrednotami, prav tako šibko negativno statistično pomembno se s societalnimi, kulturnimi, ekološkimi, spoznavnimi in izpolnitvenimi vrednotami povezuje tudi avtoritaren vzgojni stil. Ocene pomembnosti vrednot se glede na kraj bivanja staršev in njihovo izobrazbo niso pomembno statistično razlikovale, glede religioznosti pa se je pokazala šibka statistično pomembna pozitivna povezava s tradicionalnimi, religioznimi, patriotskimi, moralnimi in apolonskimi vrednotami. Matere so v svoji vrednotni usmeritvi bolj apolonsko usmerjene v primerjavi z očeti, ki se bolj usmerjajo k dionizičnim vrednotam. Oboji si v največji meri prizadevajo, da bi svojim otrokom preko pogovora ter z zgledom privzgojili vrednoti poštenost in delavnost.

Title:
Parenting styles and their value orientation
Abstract:
Our research was aimed at studying the parents’ upbringing styles as well as their value orientation and mutual connections. We have studied the differences among parents regarding their education, gender, the size of their place of living and religion. Moreover, we have researched how parents impart values to their children and which values are their top priorities. Our research comprised 78 children and 146 parents of these children. On the basis of the Parental authority questionnaire (PAQ) and the modified Musek’s value scale (MLV-M) we came to the conclusion that the authoritative style of upbringing is prevailing which is not statistically significantly connected with the values of the Musek’s value scale. However, there is a slightly negative statistically significant connection between permissive parents and their moral values. On the other hand, the authoritative style of upbringing is also slightly negatively statistically connected with societal, cultural, ecological, cognitive and fulfilment values. The importance assessment of values did not vary statistically significantly regarding the parents’ place of living and their education; however, we could notice a slight statistically significant connection between the religion and traditional, religious, patriotic, moral and Apollonian values. In comparison with fathers who are more oriented to Dionysian values, mothers are more oriented to Apollonian values. All of them strive with all their might to impart honesty and diligence to their children by talking to them and by giving a good example.
