Abstract:Z uvedbo nove tehnologije trirazsežnega tiskanja plastomagnetov želimo zadostiti kriteriju po nižanju stroškov izdelave manjših serij in ob tem ohraniti dobre magnetne in mehanske lastnosti, ki jih dosežemo z injekcijskim brizganjem. V diplomskem delu sta bili iz magnetnega prahu NdFeB in polimernega veziva PA12 s postopkom neprekinjenega ciljnega nalaganja (FDM) izdelali dve seriji tiskanih plastomagnetov z različno debelino tiskanega sloja.

Title:Production of polymer bonded magnets with additive manufacturing
Abstract:The introduction of 3D printing as a new technology for the production of polymer bonded magnets is aimed at lowering costs of a small scale production while preserving good magnetic and mechanical properties, such as those obtainable by injection moulding. Two series of polymer bonded magnets, based on NdFeB magnetic powder and polyamide PA 12 as binder and with different thickness of printed layer, have been produced for the purpose of this graduation thesis using the method of Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM). The purpose of the research was to identify the optimum thickness of the printed layer, which would give printed polymer bonded magnets characteristics similar to those produced by injection moulding. Well-known methods of sample preparation, density measurement and calculation, microstructure analysis, and mechanical and magnetic properties determination have been used. The research has shown that the target properties of polymer bonded magnets are obtainable with the reduction of thickness of the printed layer. The hypothesis that the new production method FDM enables the manufacturing of polymer bonded magnets with the properties appropriate for industrial needs has also been confirmed. The results of this thesis encourage further investigation into the development of the technology of 3D printing of polymer bonded magnets.
