Abstract:Zaradi vedno strožjih okoljevarstvenih predpisov je reševanje problematike obarvanih odplak prednostna naloga proizvajalcev barvil.

Title:Influence of pretreatment on reactive dyestuff yield
Abstract:Reactive dyes represent a very important group of dyes used for cotton dyeing because of the simplicity of the deying process they offer, brilliant colour shades and good wash fastness. Their disadvatage is, however, their low degree of dye fixation, which results in a considerable amount of dye residue in dyeing and washing baths. In view of severe environmental regulations, the priority task of dyestuff manufacturers and dyers has become to resolve the problem of colored and dyestuff-polluted wastewater. The portion of a covalently fixed dyestuff to a cotton fibre can be increased by using bifunctional dyes and by efficient pretreatment of cotton. In this paper the influence of different pretreatments on sorption properties of cotton yarns is studied. Differently dyed samples of cotton yarns were dyed with the bifunctional Bezaktiv Red S-3B by the exhaustion method. The portion of the exhausted dyestuff was determined by spectroscopy of dyebaths, whilst the portion of covalently fixed dyestuffs was determined indirectly by extraction of non-fixed dyestuffs from dyed samples. The influence of pretreatment on the colour sample was also evaluated spectrophotometrically.
