V diplomskem delu smo predstavili probiotične mikroorganizme in ugotavljali seznanjenost populacije srednješolcev s probiotičnimi mikroorganizmi v prehranskih izdelkih in prehranskih dopolnilih ter vključevanje le teh v vsakodnevno prehrano. Metode: V empiričnem delu smo s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika izvedli raziskavo o seznanjenosti dijakov s probiotičnimi mikroorganizmi v prehranskih izdelkih in prehranskih dopolnilih.

Title:FAMILIARITY OF STUDENTS WITH PROBIOTIC MICROORGANISMS IN FOOD PRODUCTS AND FOOD SUPPLEMENTS
Abstract:Introduction: Among people over the last decades it has been firmly established that microorganisms are not only the enemies that harm humans causing infectious diseases, in fact they are also beneficial to health. In this thesis we presented probiotic microorganisms and the awareness of the population of secondary school students with probiotic microorganisms in food products and dietary supplements, and the integration of these in the everyday diet. Methods: In the empirical part, we used a questionnaire to conduct research on awareness of students with probiotic microorganisms in food products and dietary supplements. In the research. The questionnaire was conducted in April and participated 30 students in second and third grade of secondary school of Nursing in Celje and contained 17 questions. Results: We found that students that haven't yet completed the course of microbiology know the importance and functions of probiotic microorganisms in food products and dietary supplements based on the family's eating habits. Students who already completed with the course of microbiology are even better informed and theoretically versed. Discussion and conclusions: Today's way of life causes stress to our human body. It has been demonstrated that the ingestion of good microorganisms has a positive impact on people's health, if this they are taken in sufficient quantities. This study demonstrates the need for greater and more effective communicating and integrating learning of beneficial microorganisms, which in today's world represent a source of natural microbial balance in the human organism.
