Abstract:
O prevozih in potovanjih se lahko razpravlja, ne da bi pri tem upoštevali turizem, vendar turizem ne uspeva brez potovanja. Železnico kot način prevoza potnikov najdemo skoraj v vsaki državi, saj je bila železnica v preteklosti nujna za gospodarski razvoj. Železniški promet je pomemben sistem v razvoju gospodarstva vseh držav, saj je od njega odvisna dostopnost do določenih krajev, prav tako pa je turistični razvoj bolj dinamičen na področjih, kjer je ponudba prevozov boljša. V diplomskem delu smo se omejili na vpliv železniškega prometa na turizem in turistično ponudbo železniških podjetij v Sloveniji in Avstriji – torej na Slovenske železnice in ÖBB. Ugotovili smo, da imajo SŽ bolj pestro in zanimivo ponudbo organiziranih izletov po Sloveniji, kot ÖBB po Avstriji. Avstrija pa ima na drugi strani boljšo in ugodnejšo ponudbo v zunanjem prometu, saj imajo več neposrednih povezav z tujimi državami.

Title:
IMPACT COMPARISON OF RAIL TRANSPORT ON TOURISM BETWEEN SLOVENIA AND AUSTRIA
Abstract:
Transportation and travelling can be discussed without taking into consideration tourism, however, tourism does not thrive without travelling. Railway as a means of passenger transport can be found almost in every country since rail transport was crucial for economic development in the past. Rail transport presents an important system in the economic development of all countries because accessibility of certain places depends on it and also the development of tourism is much more dynamic in the areas with better transport services. The focus of this diploma thesis is the influence of the railway transport on tourism and tourist offer of railway companies in Slovenia and Austria, that is, Slovenske železnice (Slovenian Railways) and ÖBB. We discovered that Slovenian Railways offer much more diverse and interesting organized trips around Slovenia than ÖBB does around Austria. On the other hand, Austria offers better and more affordable international transports due to better direct connections with foreign countries.
