Abstract:
V diplomskem delu je predstavljen potek nadgradnje obstoječega kabelsko razdelilnega sistema kabelskega operaterja v optično omrežje, z možnostjo ponujanja boljših storitev uporabnikom. Predstavljena bo rešitev, kako bi lahko ponudnik gradil svoje omrežje, prav tako pa tudi oprema, ki bi se pri projektu uporabila. Opisane so storitve triple-play, optični kabli, omrežna tehnologija in arhitektura, pasivna in aktivna oprema od ponudnika do naročnika ter orodja za dokumentiranje, ki bi se pri projektu lahko uporabila.

UPGRADE OF THE COAXIAL CABLE NETWORK TO THE FIBER TO HOME
Abstract:
The diploma presents the cable operator upgrade of the existing cable distribution system to an optical network with the aim to offer better services to users. The method and the equipment used by the provider in the building of the network are presented. All components of the project are described in detail: triple-play services, fiber optic cables, network technology and architecture, passive and active equipment from the provider to the customer, and documentation tools that could be used.
