Abstract:	Magistrsko delo prikazuje problem propadanja in delnega prenavljanja zgodovinskega objekta, Moške kaznilnice Maribor, ter zapuščenosti njegove okolice. Poiskali smo ustrezen program, ki bi omogočil celovito in enotno prenovo arhitekture ter se hkrati povezal z bogato zgodovino kaznilnice. V magistrskem delu dokazujemo, da objekt lahko oživi kot muzej svetovnih vojn. Ne omogoča samo celostne prenove objekta z ureditvijo parka, temveč ponuja tudi novo turistično točko v Mariboru. S preureditvijo notranjega volumna z novimi strukturami in materiali ter uporabo sodobne tehnologije ustvarjamo edinstveno doživetje znotraj muzeja.

Title:	WAR MUSEUM (RENOVATION OF FORMER MEN'S PRISON)
Abstract:	My thesis encompasses the degradation issue and partial renovation of a historical site of Maribor’s men’s prison and it’s derelict surroundings. The premise of my theory is the process of finding an appropriate solution for the site, which would encompass a holistic and unified restoration and re-imagination of it’s architecture, whilst being recognizable and relate well to the site’s history and it’s significance. The essence of my thesis is the revitalization, through the repurposing of the building complex as a war museum. Not only does the process enable the site to be completely renovated along with it’s large park, but in hand offers a new tourist destination for the city of Maribor. With the complete interior conversion that includes new structures, use of contemporary materials and technology, we have generated a fresh and unique visitor experience.
