Title:Characteristics of East European stock markets compared to developed stock markets
Abstract:This final thesis examines countries that have had at the end of Second World War cetral-planned economy and were faced in the 90´s with the challange of transition to market economy. These countries were from Central and East or South Eastern Europe area. Privatization process enabled this tranzition. Social property was devided amongst people and structural reforms and measures needed to be taken so modernization of its economy could take place. This transfer happened gradually. With new economic system stock exchanges were brought back to life. Stock markets go hand in hand with the economy. At that time newly emerged countries with the potential of still developing economies were ideal evironment for operation of the stock exchanges. That was not overlooked by investors home and abroad. The inflow of investment has driven rapidly economic growth until year 2008, when economic crisis strucked and affecteded greatly growth of the economies. Many of them are still in process of recovery and are looking for ways how to get out of the crisis.
