Abstract:
Še vedno obstaja mnogo ljudi, ki ne želijo bivati v strogem centru mesta, vendar kljub temu želijo imeti vse oskrbne točke na dosegu. Hkrati želijo bivati v neposredni bližini narave, ki jim nudi rekreacijo in počitek. Mesto Maribor je obdano z gozdovi in drugimi zelenimi ekosistemi. Nekateri so oskrbovani in negovani, drugi so na meji degradiranega stanja. In prav slednji predstavljajo možnost za drugačno uporabo. Ideja po združitvi gozda in grajenega tkiva ni nova, izčiščeni koncepti takšnih naselij so se pojavljali že v 20. stoletju. Magistrsko delo se ukvarja z izzivom, kako združiti novo stanovanjsko naselje in gozd na Studencih, pri čemer se predpostavlja bivanje z gozdom kot bivanjska prednost in kjer se izognemo uničevanju zelenega sistema. Preučuje alternativno gradnjo, ki pri nas ni v ospredju, v tujini, npr. v Skandinaviji, pa večina stanovanjskih sosesk sobiva z gozdom.

Title:
LIVING IN THE URBAN FOREST
Abstract:
Among the population there are still many of those who do not want to reside in the very centre of the city, and yet want to have all of the necessary amenities within their reach. At the same time, they want to reside in the immediate vicinity of nature, where they could indulge in recreational activities and relaxation. The city of Maribor is rich in forests and other similar ecosystems. Some of them are well kept and groomed, while others are on the brink of degradation. The latter present us with a possibility of repurposing. The idea of integrating forests and urban tissue is not new – elaborated concepts of such settlements already appeared in the 20th century. This MA thesis deals with the challenge of combining a new residential area with the forest in Studenci, under the premise that residing within the forest is an essential asset, which also enables us to avoid destroying the ecosystem. It explores alternative building methods, not often used in our country, while, for example, in Scandinavia the majority of residential areas coexist with forests.
