Abstract:
Hiter razvoj spletnih aplikacij in storitev zahteva učinkovit pristop k identifikaciji uporabnostnih težav.

Title:
UNOBSTRUSIVE USABILITY EVALUATION OFWEB APPLICATIONS
Abstract:
Fast expansion of web applications and services has made it increasingly important to quickly and efficiently identify usability problems. Answer may be found in unobtrusive, partially or fully automated, usability data gathering that occurs naturally in a research context. Based on usability fundamentals we defined unobtrusive usability measures of web applications, presented basic unobtrusive data gathering techniques, data mining and analysis through performance and self-reported metrics. Unobtrusive measures were applied and evaluated on a web application for direct marketing over the telephone. To measure usability of core tasks we implemented, captured and analyzed user interaction logs. We concluded that analysis of captured user activity can provide good insight into the performance goals achievement and is at the same time also a good indirect indicator of potential problems and opportunities for usability improvements. The essential part of a successful unobtrusive usability evaluation is a thoughtful, credible and trustworthy implementation of data gathering which could prove difficult.
