Title:The impact of natural disasters on logistic processes in road transport
Abstract:Natural disaster is a phenomenon which is difficult to predict, but with the help of modern technology, some events are easier to predict and we can prepare for them easier. When it comes to natural disasters we realize how vulnerable are we to these effects; often we have no access to the supply of natural resources, people can not safely get to work, etc. Different events hinter the logistical processes. At the end of January, beginning of February 2014 Slovenia was hit by a powerful sleet which caused extensive damage, some cities were literally cut out from the world. In the dissertation is an example of the damage that has occurred due to the occurrence of natural disasters, the example is the slipping of a vehicle from the road. Based on the interviews, we also found out how was the attendance of humanitarian organizations, civil protection, Slovenian army, and also an example of the driver who has suffered harm due to the formation of ice.Level of preparedness of the Center for crisis management has proved to be effective. Still competent will have to do a lot more on response time and logistics. In the example of sleet that hit Slovenia, effectiveness of legislation is not as big as solidarity, people helping each other, which is very encouraging.
