Abstract:
The Educational Park - Technical Academy Maribor is a new concept with which we wish to enrich the city of Maribor. The main idea is to connect research and education with practical experience, start up companies and the production spaces of big companies. This broad content with multiple additions could be placed in the Business Industrial Zone Tezno, with certain modifications to the existing structures. This thesis deals with the evolution of industrial architecture and especially its importance to the city of Maribor. We present an in depth historical analysis of the company TAM, the predecessor of today’s BIZ Tezno, which was one of the biggest factories with research facilities and educational spaces in the former Yugoslavia. The urban master plan consists of the placement of the afore-mentioned content in the facilities of BIZ Tezno. The idea is to create an open, inviting space that would be a part of city life, with the addition of sports facilities, pool areas, a museum of industrial heritage, a concert hall, etc. As a continuation of the master plan, we also designed an industrial architectural model that shows how the concept of the Educational park can be implemented in the facilities of an established company. We also contemplated the use of renewable materials and, therefore, used timber in the construction. The facility would be an addition to the brand image of any company that values sustainable development and progress.

Abstract:
Izobraževalni Park – Tehnična akademija Maribor je nov koncept, s katerim želimo obogatiti mesto Maribor. Ideja je povezati izobraževalni in raziskovalni program z možnostjo pridobivanja praktičnih izkušenj ter start up podjetji in z utemeljenimi podjetji tudi na področju industrije. Struktura Poslovno-proizvodne cone Tezno v Mariboru omogoča umestitev takšnega programa in celo dodatke. V magistrskem delu se ukvarjamo z analizo evolucije industrijske arhitekture, še posebno v povezavi z razvojem Maribora. Pri tem poudarjamo pomen podjetja Tovarna avtomobilov in motorjev Maribor v vseh variacijah. V urbanistični načrt smo umestili prej omenjene glavne programske točke ter dodali objekte in dejavnosti, ki bi območje Izobraževalnega parka dodatno povezale z mestnim življenjem Maribora. Za nadaljevanje ideje preko urbanističnega načrta smo izdelali referenčno industrijsko arhitekturo, ki bi jo umestili v novo ureditev. Pri oblikovanju smo se ozirali predvsem na to, kako ustvariti ambiente, ki bi najbolj vzbujali kreativnost, dobro počutje in produktivnost zaposlenih ter pozitivno vplivali na vse druge ljudi, ki bi se znašli v teh prostorih. Implementirali smo tudi vidik uporabe trajnostnih materialov v konstrukciji objekta v obliki lesene in hibridne konstrukcije. Objekt je oblikovan tako, da lahko predstavlja kvalitativni del blagovne znamke ozaveščenega podjetja pri trajnostnem razvoju. Magistrska naloga je pisana v angleškem jeziku, da je razumljiva širši javnosti, s povzetki v slovenščini.
