Abstract:
Podatke smo kvantitativno obdelali z deskriptivno in bivariatno statistiko. Ugotavljali smo mejnike v motoričnem razvoju v prvem letu starosti (samostojno sedenje, stoja s pomočjo, plazenje, hoja s pomočjo, samostojna stoja, samostojna hoja).

Title:
DEVELOPMENT OF MOTOR SKILLS IN THE FIRST YEAR
Abstract:
The following diploma paper titled Development of motor skills in the first year consists of two parts: a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part describes the development of fine and gross motor skills, sitting without the help, standing with or without the help or support, crawling, walking with the help of adults, standing and walking without the help or support. The empirical part presents the results acquired using a nonexperimental causal study performed on non-random sample of 50 young mothers from Celje region whose children are aged between one and five. Close ended questionnaire was used to gather information. Data were qualitatively processed using descriptive and bivariate statistics. Milestones in motor development in the first year (sitting without support, standing with support, crawling, walking with the help, and standing and walking independently) were established. The research shows that children, whose parents were involved in research, reach milestones set by World Health Organisation in the first year (De Onis, 2006). Apart from reaching a walking with support milestone, there is no statistically significant difference in reaching milestones between girls and boys.
