Abstract:Internet se je v zadnjih dvajsetih letih razširil na vse konce sveta ter tako postal najhitrejši rastoči medij. Prav zaradi vsakodnevne uporabe smo se odločili raziskati, kakšna je zgodovina nastanka interneta ter kateri dogodki so pripomogli k širitvi interneta v Sloveniji. Diplomska naloga obravnava prelomne dogodke pri nastanku interneta in kako je dosegel tudi Slovenijo. Osredotočili smo se predvsem na čas pred osamosvojitvijo Slovenije in čas po njej. Dejstvo je, da je internet še vedno najbolj razvit v ZDA. S preučitvijo literature in intervjujem s strokovnjaki s področja interneta je bilo ugotovljeno, da so bili Slovenci med vodilnimi v bivši skupni Jugoslaviji, ki so spodbujali razvoj interneta. Predstavili smo tudi različne protokole, ki so bili v uporabi, kakšen nabor storitev je bil na voljo ter različne organizacije, ki so pripomogle k razvoju interneta in s tem posameznike, kateri so bili najbolj dejavni na tem področju.

Title:IMPACT ANALYSIS OF PAST KEY EVENTS ON THE STATE OF INTERNET IN THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA
Abstract:The internet has spread across the whole world in the last 20 years and has become the fastest growing form of mass media. Because of its day-to-day use, we decided to explore the history of the internet's creation and which events helped it's development in Slovenia. This diploma thesis discusses the milestones of the internet's creation and how it reached Slovenia. We focused primarily on the time period before and after Slovenia's independence. It's a fact that the internet is the most developed in the USA. Through examination of literature and interviews with experts from that area, we established that Slovenians were amongst the leading who encouraged the development of internet in former Yugoslavia. It also presents different protocols which were used, what services were offered and different organisations that aided the development of the internet in Slovenia, which also includes individuals that were very active in this area at that time.
