Abstract:
Namen raziskave je bil določiti celokupno vsebnost vitamina C v cvetovih in jagodah različnih genotipov bezga (Sambucus spp.) ter ugotoviti ali obstaja povezanost med vsebnostjo v cvetovih in jagodah. Zbrali smo vzorce socvetij v polnem cvetenju in povsem dozorelih jagod. Ekstrakcijo vitamina C smo izvedli z dodatkom 3 % raztopine metafosforjeve kisline (MPA). Za redukcijo dehidroaskorbinske kisline (DHA) v askorbinsko kislino (AA) smo dodali raztopino ditiotreitola (DTT) v trisu. Vsebnosti vitamina C v ekstraktih bezgovih cvetov in jagod smo določevali s tekočinsko kromatografijo visoke ločljivosti (HPLC). Vrednost izmerjenega vitamina C v cvetovih je bila med 3,37 mg/g in 8,12 mg/g suhe snovi, v jagodah pa med 5,76 mg/100 g in 42,32 mg/100 g svežega vzorca. Pearson-ov koeficient korelacije je znašal 0,601; kar kaže na statistično značilno korelacijsko povezanost med vsebnostjo vitamina C v cvetovih in jagodah.

Title:
Relationship between concentrations of vitamin C in flowers and fruits of various genotypes of elders
Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to determine the contents of vitamin C in flowers and fruits of different elder (Sambucus ssp.) genotypes. Flowers were collected in full blossom and berries when they were fully ripe. The extraction of vitamin C from the samples was carried out by treating the samples with 3% metaphosphoric acid (MPA). In sample extracts, dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) was reduced to ascorbic acid (AA) by adding ditiothreitol (DTT). The contents of vitamin C in extracts of elder flowers and fruits were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The values of this vitamin in elder flowers ranged between 3.37 mg/g and 8.12 mg/g of dry weight, while in fruits they ranged between 5.76 mg/100 g and 42.32 mg/100 g of fresh weight. The Pearson´s correlation coefficient (0.601) indicated that there was a relatively strong positive correlation between the content of vitamin C in elder flowers and fruits.
